Tragic: Mother Loses All Five Of Her Children In Apartment Fire

A 34-year-old single mother, Sabrina Dunigan lost all 5 of her beautiful children in a tragic house fire. The fire happened in an apartment building located in the 500 block of 29th Street in East St. Louis, Illinois

It started after the mother of the five children went to pick up someone from work, according to the East St. Louis Fire Department.

When she returned home, the mother tried to get the children out herself, but she was unsuccessful. The fire started at about 3:45 a.m. It is unclear if the building had working smoke alarms.

Two of her children were found inside a bedroom, and the three other children were found on the kitchen floor. Her relatives have identified the children as 9-year-old Deontae, 8-year-old twins Neveah and Heaven, 4-year-old Jabari, and 2-year-old Loy’el

Investigators believe the fire started in a front room of the family’s apartment.

The origin of the fire near East St. Louis, Missouri, which is situated across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, is being investigated. According to officials, seven additional families were affected by the fire, but they were not at home when it began.
