According to President Buhari, his administration is working to combat terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities in the nation.

The President made this statement on Tuesday, August 2, at the State House in Abuja, where he was receiving the letters of credence from the new Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ambassador James Kingston Christoff, and the new Mexican Ambassador to Nigeria, Juan Alfred Miranda Oritz.

Buhari urged greater international cooperation to combat insecurity, noting that Nigeria had achieved significant strides with the assistance of friendly nations like Canada and Mexico.

“The political instability in Libya continues to fuel terrorism in the Sahel, West and Central African regions.

Nigeria is not excluded from the discussion since we are working to eradicate insurgency, banditry, abduction, and conflicts between herders and farmers in our nation.

However, with the assistance of friendly nations like yours, we are able to continue this battle until we conquer these obstacles.

The President instructed the diplomats to keep an eye on political activity in the nation in the run-up to the 2023 general elections while remaining impartial.
