Data breaches are becoming alarmingly common, and it’s no longer just massive corporations or government agencies in the crosshairs. Hackers are setting their sights on personal devices like your smartphone. Think about it, your phone holds a staggering amount of your personal information. 

From emails and text messages to banking apps, social media and even your photos, it’s a treasure trove for cybercriminals.

The numbers back up the growing threat. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center received nearly 56,000 reports of personal data breaches last year. California, the most populous state, topped the charts for the most complaints, according to the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC). These stats are more than just numbers — they’re a wake-up call.

So, what happens if you find your phone has been hacked?

It’s a nightmare scenario. Your phone feels off — battery drains faster than usual, strange pop-ups appear, apps you didn’t download show up, or you’re suddenly locked out. Maybe it’s sluggish, overheating or making unexpected calls or texts. Your mind races: “What did they see? What can they do with my information? Can I even fix this?”

Take a deep breath. Yes, it’s unsettling, but you’re not powerless. Knowing what steps to take — and in what order — can make a huge difference in regaining control and stopping the damage. Let’s walk through exactly what to do if your phone gets hacked, so you can protect yourself and bounce back stronger.

BEST ANTIVIRUS FOR MAC, PC, IPHONES AND ANDROIDS — CYBERGUY PICKS

Step 1: Remove malicious software

Even if hackers had only brief access to your device, assume they’ve seen sensitive data. Your first task is to remove any malware or spyware.

1. Use strong antivirus software: The easiest and most effective way to start is by installing and running strong antivirus or antivirus software. After installation, run a full device scan. This will search for hidden threats like spyware, ransomware, or keyloggers that could compromise your information further. Once the scan identifies malicious files, follow the app’s instructions to quarantine or remove them. Be sure to double-check the app’s log to confirm all suspicious activity has been addressed. Most antivirus tools offer real-time protection to monitor for threats as they occur. Turn this feature on to reduce the risk of reinfection. Antivirus programs are only as effective as their latest updates. Cybercriminals continuously develop new malware, so keeping your antivirus database current ensures it can detect the newest threats.

2. Factory reset if needed: If the antivirus software fails to fully restore your phone’s functionality — such as fixing issues like freezing, slowdowns or unexpected shutdowns — you may need to perform a factory reset on your iPhone or Android. A factory reset wipes all data from your phone, returning it to its original state when it left the manufacturer. Before resetting, create a backup of your important files. However, ensure the backup itself is free of malware. Use antivirus software to scan backups before restoring them. Most phones offer a simple reset option in their settings menu under “System” or “General Management.” Consult your device manual or manufacturer’s website for detailed instructions.

3. Seek professional help: If you’re not confident in your ability to remove malware or reset your phone, reach out to a trusted professional. Visit the Apple Store, Microsoft Store or an authorized service provider for your phone brand. Explain your situation and ask for a thorough inspection and cleaning of your device. Many retailers offer comprehensive diagnostic and repair services.

4. Abandon hardware only as a last resort: In rare cases, malware can deeply embed itself into a device, making complete removal nearly impossible. If your phone continues to exhibit signs of infection despite using antivirus tools, factory resets and professional help, you may need to replace it. Ensure you completely wipe the device before disposing of it to prevent any residual data from falling into the wrong hands. When setting up a new device, take extra precautions to secure it, such as enabling two-factor authentication and keeping all software up to date.

Step 2: Don’t reset passwords prematurely

Resist the urge to immediately change passwords on a compromised device. Hackers might still have access and could intercept your new credentials, potentially locking you out again. Instead, follow these steps:

Use a trusted, secure device for password resets:

  • Use another device you own or borrow a friend’s or family member’s computer to reset your password.
  • If possible, also use a different network than your compromised phone to avoid potential network-level attacks.

Prioritize critical accounts:

  • Start with your email, as it’s often used for password resets on other accounts.
  • Move on to financial accounts, social media and other sensitive services.

Create strong, unique passwords:

  • Use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Aim for at least 12 characters in length.
  • Avoid using personal information or common phrases.
  • Consider using a password manager to generate and store complex, unique passwords for each account. They encrypt your password database, adding an extra layer of security.

Setting up passkeys on iPhone and Android

As we’ve seen, traditional passwords present numerous security challenges — including susceptibility to breaches and phishing attacks — along with the inconvenience of remembering complex combinations. Even with best practices in place, passwords can still be stolen or misused.

This is where passkeys come into play. As data breaches become increasingly common, adopting passkeys can significantly enhance your security. Unlike passwords that require you to remember a string of characters, passkeys utilize biometric authentication or a PIN to streamline the login process while providing protection against unauthorized access.

Benefits of using passkeys

Enhanced security: Passkeys are resistant to phishing attacks and reduce the risk of credential theft since they cannot be easily guessed or stolen like traditional passwords.

Convenience: With biometric authentication, logging into apps and websites becomes faster and easier — eliminating the need to remember complex passwords.

Cross-device functionality: Passkeys work seamlessly across different devices linked to the same account — providing a unified login experience.

Here’s how to set up passkeys on both iPhone and Android devices so that you can secure your personal information.

Setting up a passkey on iPhone 

  • Check compatibility: Ensure your iPhone is running iOS 16 or later; passkeys are integrated into iCloud Keychain.
  • Enable iCloud Keychain: Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Under Saved to iCloud, tap Passwords. In iOS 17 or earlier, tap Passwords and Keychain. > Tap Sync this iPhone to turn on iCloud Passwords & Keychain. You might be asked for your passcode or Apple Account password.

Financial institutions: Update passwords and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your bank accounts. This enhances the security of your financial information. Inform your financial institutions about the breach. Some banks allow you to set up verbal passwords for added security.

Driver’s license: Submit a Fraud Review of Driver License/Identification form to your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Social Security account: Create a my Social Security account if you don’t already have one. Monitor it for any unusual activity. Regularly review your account statements to ensure no unauthorized changes have been made.

Taxes: Obtain an Identity Protection (IP) PIN from the IRS to prevent fraudulent tax filings. File your taxes early to outpace potential fraudsters. You can get an IP PIN by visiting the IRS official website.

Identity theft protection: Identity theft companies can monitor personal information like your Social Security Number (SSN), phone number and email address and alert you if it is being sold on the dark web or being used to open an account.  They can also assist you in freezing your bank and credit card accounts to prevent further unauthorized use by criminals.

Former ‘Bond Girl’ trashes idea of female James Bond: ‘Like Mary Poppins being played by a man’

British actress Gemma Arterton doesn’t agree with the idea of a gender-swapped James Bond, thinking moviegoers would find it “outrageous.”

In a recent interview with UK outlet, The Times, Arterton pointed out that James Bond being portrayed as a woman is absurd on its face.

“Isn’t a female James Bond like Mary Poppins being played by a man?” she wondered. “They talk about it, but I think people would find it too outrageous.”

Arterton played British Secret Service agent Strawberry Fields in 2008 Bond film “Quantum of Solace,” the second in the series to star Daniel Craig. She insisted that Hollywood should respect the legacy of the character and not opt for the change.

“Sometimes you just have to respect the tradition,” she said.

Remaking the titular character’s identity has been a popular topic in Hollywood circles in recent years, as producers have contemplated shaking up the franchise’s formula following Craig’s final turn as the spy in 2021’s “No Time to Die.”

Craig has weighed in on the thought, saying he doesn’t think Bond should be gender-swapped. Rather, he thinks a similar franchise with a female lead could be the approach. 

“Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?” he asked in an interview with Radio Times in 2021.

Bond producer Barbara Broccoli has expressed openness to James Bond being played by an actor of a different race. Idris Elba, a British actor of African descent, was a long-time favorite to step into the legendary role, though he recently ruled out doing it.

However, Broccoli has poured cold water on the idea of a female James Bond. 

She told Variety in 2020, “He can be of any color, but he is male. I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters. I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that.”

In another interview, Broccoli did express openness to Bond identifying as “non-binary” and using they/them pronouns. 

When asked about that prospect on the “Girls On Film” podcast in 2021, Broccoli replied, “Who knows? I mean, I think it’s open. We just have to find the right actor.”

Others have even floated the idea of Bond being gay. During a press conference at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, a journalist asked Craig, “Do you think there could be a gay James Bond?”

The actor rolled his eyes at the question.

Arterton told The Times she’s confused why she’s still so associated with the “Bond Girl” title, given her role in the 2008 film was so minor – her character was killed just minutes after being introduced.

“I don’t regret doing a Bond film, but I am perplexed why it has followed me around. I was only in the film for five minutes,” she said.

OpenAI whistleblower found dead in San Francisco apartment from apparent suicide attempt

A former OpenAI employee and whistleblower, Suchir Balaji, was recently found dead in his apartment in San Francisco, California.

The San Francisco Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified Balaji, 26, as the deceased person, according to the San Jose Mercury News. The manner of death has been ruled suicide.

The medical examiner said it had notified Balaji’s family.

Balaji was found dead in his Buchanan Street apartment on November 26, a spokesperson for the San Francisco Police Department told the outlet. First responders were called to his home to perform a wellness check, and no evidence of foul play was found during the initial probe.

“We are devastated to learn of this incredibly sad news today and our hearts go out to Suchir’s loved ones during this difficult time,” a spokesperson for OpenAI told Fox News Digital.

This comes after Balaji, an AI researcher, raised concerns about OpenAI breaking copyright law in an interview with The New York Times in October.

Balaji resigned from OpenAI after working there for nearly four years when he learned the technology would bring more harm than good to society, he told the newspaper, noting that his main concern was the way the company allegedly used copyright data, stating that he believed its practices were damaging to the internet.

“I was at OpenAI for nearly 4 years and worked on ChatGPT for the last 1.5 of them,” Balaji wrote in October on the social media platform X. “I initially didn’t know much about copyright, fair use, etc. but became curious after seeing all the lawsuits filed against GenAI companies.”

“When I tried to understand the issue better, I eventually came to the conclusion that fair use seems like a pretty implausible defense for a lot of generative AI products, for the basic reason that they can create substitutes that compete with the data they’re trained on,” his post continued.

OpenAI and Microsoft are currently facing several lawsuits from media outlets who accuse OpenAI of breaking copyright law.

RNC chair reveals what role Trump will play during the 2026 midterms: ‘All the way to the finish line’

EXCLUSIVE: President-elect Trump won’t be on the ballot in the 2026 midterms, but Republican National Committee chair Michael Whatley says that Trump will play a “significant” role in supporting GOP candidates.

Republicans enjoyed major victories in last month’s elections, with Trump defeating Vice President Kamala Harris to win the White House, the GOP flipping control of the Senate from the Democrats, and holding on to their razor-thin majority in the House.

Whatley argued that “as we go forward into this next election cycle, the fundamentals are going to remain the same” during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital.

“We need to make sure that we are building our state parties, that we’re building our ground game, we’re building our election integrity apparatus to be in place to make sure that when we get those candidates through those primaries in ‘26, that we’re going to be in a position to take them all the way to the finish line,” he emphasized.

But the party in power traditionally suffers setbacks in the following midterm elections. And Trump, who was a magnate for voter turnout, won’t be on the ballot in 2026.

Whatley said that even though he won’t be a candidate, “President Trump is going to be a very significant part of this because at the end of the day, what we need to do is hold on to the House, hold on to the Senate so that we can finish his term and his agenda.”

And Whatley predicted that “Donald Trump will be very active on the campaign trail for Republicans. And his agenda is the agenda that we’re going to be running on.”

The Harris campaign and the Democratic National Committee outraised the Trump campaign and the RNC this past cycle, but Whatley is confident that with the party soon to control the White House, Republicans will be even more competitive in the campaign cash race in the midterms.

“We’re pretty excited about where we are in terms of the fundraising that we did throughout the course of this cycle and what we’re going to do going forward,” he said.

Whatley said that his message to donors will be “we were successful in putting Donald Trump into the White House, and we need to carry forward with his agenda by keeping these House majorities and Senate majorities.”

He also pushed back on the persistent questioning of the RNC and Trump campaign’s ground game efforts during the general election.

“We focused very hard on low propensity voters. This was an entirely new system that we put in place over the course of this election cycle. It worked very, very well,” he touted. 

And looking ahead, he said “in a midterm election cycle, low propensity voters are going to, again, be very, very important for us. So, we’re going to continue to focus on building that type of a program.”

Whatley spotlighted that ‘we also focused on outreach to communities that the Republican Party has traditionally not reached out to – Black voters, Hispanic voters, Asian American voters. That’s why we were able to see such seismic shifts towards Donald Trump versus where those blocks had been in 2016 and 2020. We also saw seismic shifts among young voters and women voters because we were talking to every single American voter. Our ground game was very significant.”

Whatley was interviewed a week after Trump asked him to continue as RNC chair moving forward.

In March, as he clinched the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, Trump named Whatley to succeed Ronna McDaniel as RNC chair. Whatley, a longtime ally of the former president and a major supporter of Trump’s election integrity efforts, had served as RNC general counsel and chair of the North Carolina Republican Party. 

Trump is term-limited and won’t be able to seek election again in 2028. Vice President-elect Sen. JD Vance will likely be considered the front-runner for the 2028 GOP nomination.

But asked if the RNC will hold to its traditional role of staying neutral in an open and contested presidential primary, Whatley said “we will.”

And he added that “I’m very excited about the bench that we have in the Republican Party right now. You think about all the Republican governors, you think about all the Republican senators, the members of the House that we have, the leaders across the country that have been engaged in this campaign are going to be part of the president’s cabinet.”

Whatley argued that the president-elect’s “America First movement is bigger than Donald Trump. He is the tip of the spear. He is the vanguard of this movement. But. It is a very big movement right now.”

The chairman also emphasized that “Donald Trump has completely remade the Republican Party. We’re now the working-class party. We’re now a party that is communicating and working with every single voter, speaking to every single voter about the issues that they care about. So, as we go into 2028, we are in a great position to be able to continue the momentum of this agenda and this movement.”

Unlike the DNC, which in the 2024 cycle upended the traditional presidential nominating calendar, the RNC made no major changes to their primary lineup, and kept the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary as their first two contests.

Asked about the 2028 calendar, Whatley said “I’ve not had any conversations with anybody who wants to change the calendar on our side. I know the Democrats did during the course of this election cycle, not sure that it really helped them all that much.”

“We’re very comfortable with the calendar as it is. But as we move towards 2028, we’ll have those conversations,” he added.

Donnie Wahlberg and the rest of the cast and the crew of “Blue Bloods” went to great lengths to keep the show on air after 14 seasons. The drama series aired its final episode Friday night.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, the “Very Scary People” host opened up about the emotional final dinner scene and how eerie the silence was on set after the final “cut” was shouted.

“I think one thing that I think about from time to time is, when we finished filming the scene, the entire crew came into the Reagan house. And we’re all standing around. There’s a couple hundred people standing there. And it was quiet for a minute. 

“I think there was a long pause after they said ‘cut.’ And I think we all stood there or sat there kind of hoping that either, A, someone would say, ‘Hey, it’s all just a joke. We’re going to keep filming more episodes.’ Or B, everyone was hesitant because we knew once somebody started talking, we’d all become emotional,” Wahlberg said.

“I think one of the things we haven’t really talked about is having worked so long with the crew that we had in New York City. I personally — and I’m sure some of the other castmates — felt bad. I felt sad. Like, we tried to keep the show going. We tried to help the show carry on, and we couldn’t. We couldn’t do it. You know, we did everything we could, everything in our power, to have the show carry on.”

Wahlberg told Fox News Digital he’s grateful for the crew he’s worked with for over a decade and can’t help but feel like the cast is “letting them down a little bit.” 

“I felt sad. Like, we tried to keep the show going. We tried to help the show carry on, and we couldn’t. We couldn’t do it. You know, we did everything we could, everything in our power, to have the show carry on.”

“That was tough. That was tough to process, you know. And I know the crew wouldn’t feel that way. But in some ways, we just kept sort of believing we would keep the show going. When that finale ended, it was kind of like reality hit us all. It was definitely a part of it, a bit of like, ‘Gosh, you know, if we could have just kept going a few more years, you know?’”

“We got close to that crew, and they have, you know, families and mortgages and a lot of responsibilities. It was a really cool feeling to go to work every day knowing that hundreds of New Yorkers who work on this show had these careers that we were a part of. And just to know that that was ending, it was tough. It was tough. I’m sure it’s scary for them. It had a lot of emotion because of that,” Wahlberg said.

Wahlberg reflected on his time on “Blue Bloods.” 

“We worked hard to represent the people of New York and the NYPD, and we worked hard to keep the show going and to keep it compelling for 14 years. And it was a lot to say goodbye. It might sometimes, from the outside, seem weird, like, ‘Oh, all these actors are crying that their show’s over.’ But we did become a family, and we did become a family with the crew. And just to say goodbye to them was emotional,” Wahlberg said.

CBS aired the final episode of “Blue Bloods” Friday, Dec. 13. The hit series starred Wahlberg, Tom Selleck, Will Estes and Bridget Moynahan.

Wahlberg has had some memorable moments with Selleck over the years.

The boy band star-turned-actor has been open about how he calls Selleck “dad,” but the most memorable moment for him was when Selleck called him “son” for the first time.

“I’ll never forget that. I was sitting in my dressing room. He walked down the hallway. He had just finished his own scenes, and I was getting ready to start mine. He said, ‘Hey, son’ and kept walking. We’ve called each other dad and son on camera and off since then,” Wahlberg said.

On Friday, Wahlberg penned an emotional letter to Selleck on Instagram. 

“Fourteen years of calling this man my cast mate, my commissioner, my friend and — whether it was on screen or off — calling him DAD! It’s been an honor, my dear friend. Thank you for leading the way and for always trusting in me. Thank you for being a father figure, and a leader, to all of us on the set of Blue Bloods. Our tour has ended, but the friendship, admiration, respect and memories, will remain. Happy Blue Bloods Finale Friday.

“Love you, Dad. All my gratitude, Donnie aka Danny aka Son,” his caption concluded.

As “Blue Bloods” concludes, Wahlberg is gearing up for the next season as host of a true-crime series, Investigation Discovery’s “Very Scary People.”

Mother of suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO killing spoke with FBI the night before her son’s arrest: report

The FBI questioned the mother of Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, the night before her son’s arrest in Pennsylvania, and she told the agents he bore a resemblance to the suspect wanted for the killing, according to a Friday report.

Kathleen Mangione was questioned Sunday night by the agency’s Joint Violent Crimes Task Force following a tip it received four days before from San Francisco Police about a missing person’s report the family filed last month, law enforcement sources told the New York Post.

San Francisco Police notified federal agents after they recognized the suspect’s face in surveillance images that the New York City Police Department released seeking public assistance after Thompson’s death on Dec. 4, although Kathleen Mangione was not entirely confident that it was her son in the images, according to the report.

The suspect was arrested the next morning at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania before federal agents could notify the NYPD of the conversation, the outlet noted.

He was found with fake IDs and a 3D-printed gun that matched the three shell casings found at the crime scene. He is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder, illegal weapons possession and forgery.

His mother reported him missing to San Francisco Police on Nov. 18, explaining that she had not spoken to her son since July 1 and was unaware of where he might be.

Luigi Mangione, 26, is accused of shooting and killing Thompson, 50, outside the Hilton hotel in Manhattan on Dec. 4.

“Our family is shocked and devastated by Luigi’s arrest,” Mangione’s family said in a statement. “We offer our prayers to the family of Brian Thompson and we ask people to pray for all involved.”

The suspect has been fighting extradition to New York, but Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said Friday that the alleged killer may waive his extradition next week.

“Indications are that the defendant may waive, but that waiver is not complete until a court proceeding,” Bragg said during a press conference. “Until that time, we’re going to continue to press forward on parallel paths, and we’ll be ready whether he’s going to waive extradition or contest extradition.”

Winter pot roast recipe is big game dish with ‘tender’ taste

Danielle Prewett didn’t like pot roast as a child.  

Yet a recipe for it is in her new cookbook. Why? As the Texas chef revealed to Fox News Digital, it has everything to do with her acquired love of hunting, which she picked up from her husband.

“I married a hunter – and so he was bringing in a lot of what some people would consider exotic meats, like wild ducks, rabbits and venison,” Prewett said. “And I just thought it was really fascinating that I had an opportunity to work with a protein that you couldn’t buy at a grocery store. And so that was kind of my initial hook into cooking wild game.” (See the video at the top of this article.)

Game meat is a key ingredient in her winter pot roast recipe from her debut cookbook, “Wild + Whole.”

The cookbook is divided into recipes from each of the four seasons. The book was two-and-a-half years in the making, Prewett said.

It took that long to come together because Prewett wrote the recipes during the seasons in which they appear in the book.

Prewett said it was important to her “that it felt like you were being in that immersive experience whenever you were flipping through the chapters in the book.”

She added, “This was very much a cookbook that was rooted in finding the ingredients outdoors in nature as much as I could.”

Prewett found that to be true with her winter pot roast recipe, which she alternatively titled “Not My Momma’s Pot Roast.”

Said Prewett, “I actually really embraced braising and slow-cooking meats when working with wild game because it’s an animal that’s naturally really tough. So I wanted to find a way to take that same nostalgic recipe, but just figure out how to make it better, frankly.”

In a description of the recipe in her cookbook, Prewett wrote: “As an adult, I made the shocking discovery that pot roast can, in fact, be truly delicious and knew I had to try my hand at the dish using venison. The result was tender, succulent and flavorful – truly not my momma’s pot roast.”

Prewett’s recipe also allows for substitutes.

Winter Pot Roast with Celery Root and Gremolata by Danielle Prewett

Serves 4 to 6

Pot Roast

1 medium celery root (about 1 pound)

21⁄2 pounds venison or beef neck, shoulder, osso buco or oxtails (see note)

Kosher salt and freshly ground

Black pepper

1 tablespoon beef tallow or neutral oil, such as avocado or grapeseed

1 yellow onion, chopped

1 leek, sliced and rinsed well to remove any grit

2 parsnips or carrots, peeled and coarsely chopped

1 celery stalk, coarsely chopped

4 garlic cloves, minced

3 tablespoons dry white wine

Several thyme and/or rosemary sprigs

6 cups chicken stock, homemade or store-bought

Note: If using beef instead of venison, choose a chuck roast or trimmed brisket. The only difference will be a shorter cook time, 2 to 3 hours.

Creamy polenta

1 1⁄2 cups whole milk

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1⁄2 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper

1 cup quick-cooking polenta

1 tablespoon unsalted butter

1⁄4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Gremolata

2 tablespoons chopped cutting

Celery, celery leaves or fresh parsley leaves

1 teaspoon lemon zest

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

1 garlic clove, minced

Directions

1. Make the pot roast: Preheat the oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. Peel the celery root, then chop it into 1-inch pieces. Set aside.

3. Cut the venison into large (4- to 6-inch) chunks across the grain and season generously with salt and pepper. Heat the tallow in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the meat, working in batches if needed, and cook until browned on both sides, 4 to 5 minutes total. Transfer the meat to a plate and set aside.

4. If the pan looks dry, add more oil, then add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until it starts to turn golden, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the leeks and cook, stirring occasionally, for a few additional minutes, until soft. Stir in the parsnips, celery and celery root and cook for a few minutes more. Stir in the garlic and cook until the garlic is fragrant, less than 1 minute. Add the wine and lemon juice. Allow the alcohol to boil off, then stir, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom of the pot.

5. Drop the herb sprigs into the pot. Return the chunks of venison to the pot and pour in enough stock to come about halfway up the sides of the meat (you may not need all the stock).

6. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and place it in the oven. Braise for about 4 hours, until the meat is fork-tender. About three-quarters of the way through the cooking time, set the lid slightly ajar so the liquid can reduce and flip the meat if the top looks dried out. (If the liquid reduces too much, you can add a splash of stock to the pot.)

7. Meanwhile, make the polenta: Combine 1 1⁄2 cups water, the milk, salt and pepper in a 2-quart saucepan and bring to a soft boil over medium-high heat. Stir in the polenta and reduce the heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and Parmesan. Let the polenta rest, uncovered, to thicken; serve hot.

8. Make the gremolata: In a small bowl, stir together the cutting celery, lemon zest, Parmesan and garlic. Set aside until ready to serve.

9. Spoon the polenta onto serving plates. Top with the pot roast and vegetables, garnish with the gremolata and serve.

The “Renegade” rapper made a statement Monday as he appeared by his wife’s side at the premiere of her latest Disney flick, “Mufasa: The Lion King,” only hours after petitioning to dismiss a rape lawsuit filed by an anonymous accuser who also implicated his friend, Sean “Diddy” Combs, in the claim.

Despite the allegations levied against the multi-hyphenate musician (born Shawn Corey Carter), Beyoncé stood next to her husband of 16 years as they walked the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Calif.

It wasn’t until four years after they first connected that Beyoncé and Jay-Z made their red carpet debut at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards in Miami. In April 2008, the couple married in a top-secret wedding at his Manhattan penthouse.

He confirmed their marriage months later in a September profile for Vibe magazine, and gave more insight into why he kept their union a secret.

Two years later, the infamous elevator incident occurred at the Standard Hotel during the Met Gala when a fight broke out between Beyoncé’s little sister, Solange Knowles, and Jay-Z while the trio were in an elevator. Surveillance video allegedly showed Solange kicking and hitting Jay-Z while Beyoncé stood beside them silently.

The Grammy-winner released her award-winning catalog, “Lemonade,” in 2016 and appeared to address cheating rumors throughout the album, with the opening lyrics to the first song “Pray You Catch Me” stating, “You can taste the dishonesty / It’s all over your breath as you pass it off so cavalier.”

In June the following year, the couple welcomed twins Rumi and Sir into the world. Later that year, Jay-Z also publicly addressed infidelity rumors.

“You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something ’cause most people can’t see themselves,” he told The New York Times Magazine. “The hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself. So, you know, most people don’t want to do that. You don’t want to look inside yourself. And so you walk away.”

In an interview with David Letterman in 2018 for his Netflix show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” Jay-Z said: “I have a beautiful wife who is understanding and knew that I’m not the worst of what I’ve done. And like we did the hard work of going to therapy and, you know, really – we love each other, right? So we really put in the work and, you know, for years, like this music that I’m making now is a result of things that have happened already and you know, like you I like to believe that we’re in a better place today but still working and communicating and growing, and I’m proud of the father and the husband that I am today because of all the work that was done.”

Jay-Z was named in a Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sexual assault case on Sunday and filed to dismiss the suit the following day. The rapper was accused of raping a minor along with Diddy at a MTV VMAs after-party in 2000, documents stated.

The lawsuit, which was initially filed in October, was refiled in New York by an anonymous accuser claiming Jay-Z “raped” her while Combs and “Celebrity B” watched. Initially, the lawsuit stated Combs raped the minor while “Celebrity A” and “Celebrity B” watched. Carter was identified as “Celebrity A” in the refiled lawsuit.

In a scathing response shared through his Roc Nation banner, the “Holy Grail” singer denied the allegations and stated lawyer Tony Buzbee’s attempt to coerce him into settling only made Jay-Z “want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!”

In response, Buzbee stated, “Regarding the Jay Z case and his efforts to silence my clients: Mr. Carter previously denied being the one who sued me and my firm,” he wrote. “He filed his frivolous case under a pseudonym. What he fails to say in his recent statement is my firm sent his lawyer a demand letter on behalf of an alleged victim and that victim never demanded a penny from him. 

“Instead, she only sought a confidential mediation. Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me, but he has tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff. His conduct has had the opposite impact. She is emboldened. I’m very proud of her resolve.”

The top gifts this holiday season might not be the best fit for everyone, especially those who have Alzheimer’s disease.

There are seven million Americans living with the disease, according to the Alzheimer’s Association – and some gifts might not be appropriate depending on a person’s stage of dementia.

“Family members and friends may have to rethink their gift-giving strategies when shopping for someone living with dementia,” Elizabeth Edgerly, Ph.D., senior director of Community Programs and Services at the Alzheimer’s Association in Chicago, said in a press release statement.

Things to consider while shopping

When shopping for someone living with dementia, Edgerly recommends considering two things about the recipient: What does this person like and what can this person do?

“It is important to adapt your gift to where the person is in the disease.”

“Lifelong passions, including hobbies and favorite activities, don’t necessarily dissipate with a dementia diagnosis,” she told Fox News Digital. “However, it is important to adapt your gift to where the person is in the disease.”

“For example, someone who was an avid golfer may not be able to play anymore, but a picture book featuring golf courses or players may be a perfect fit.”

Edgerly suggested thinking about “what brings them joy,” such as photos of family members or past pets that can be made into a custom gift.

“Create a mug, ornament or special notebook with those photos on the cover,” she recommended. “Do they have a favorite song list? Create a playlist for devices like Amazon [Alexa] or Google Home. Pick a gift that caters to these interests, but in a way that is cognitively appropriate.”

Gifts that help support the person living with dementia in a fun way are good options, the expert noted, as well as items that bring comfort.

“The best gift I bought for my mom after she developed dementia was a giant box of individually wrapped whoopie pies (a dessert cake),” Edgerly shared. 

“The adage that the best things in life are free is true.”

“She was able to hand them out to all her friends and the staff at the assisted living facility. I made sure she had plenty to give out. She had the biggest smile on her face handing those out to everyone.”

But one of the best gifts you can give to someone with dementia, according to Edgerly, is the gift of your time.

“Make plans to spend time with the person doing the things they like,” she advised. “It can be playing a game, looking at old pictures, watching a favorite movie or going out to eat.”

“The adage that the best things in life are free is true. Spending time and engaging the person in meaningful ways can be the best gift of all.”

Faith leaders share their hopes for the incoming Trump administration

Christian, Jewish and Muslim faith leaders are cautiously optimistic heading into the new year with a second Trump administration.

This week, Fox News Digital spoke to leaders from various faith communities, many of whom expressed hope the incoming administration would lead in the right direction but wary that President-elect Trump would still prove himself.

“There are some [Jewish] communities that feel positive and optimistic, and there are some communities that feel extremely concerned,” said New York City Rabbi Jo David, who has a private rabbinic practice.

“I think there’s a mixed reaction, but there’s a skeptical optimism,” said Haris Tarin, vice president of policy and programming at the Muslim Public Affairs Council.

Lorenzo Sewell, senior pastor at 180 Church in Detroit, said Trump has the opportunity to go down as “the greatest president in history” if he plays his cards right. “Only thing he needs to do is righteously regulate [the appropriate] resources.”

Samuel Rodriguez is lead pastor at New Season, a prominent U.S. megachurch, and president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. He echoed the sense of hope that some faith leaders are feeling looking toward Inauguration Day.

“I believe we’ll see a stronger emphasis on protecting religious freedom and ensuring that faith communities are empowered to thrive,” Rodriguez said. “Policies that respect the role of faith-based organizations in society — whether they’re feeding the hungry, educating children or advocating for life — will likely take center stage. I also anticipate an administration that values the contributions of people of faith, not as something to tolerate but as an essential cornerstone of our nation.”

With respect to the Jewish community, Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the former chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and director of Global Social Action at the Simon Wiesenthal Center, said antisemitism, particularly on social media and on college campuses, and the “embrace of the Hamas narrative,” are a top priority.

“We expect and hope for a completely different approach on the part of the incoming administration,” Cooper said. “We expect that the billions and billions of sanction relief that President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken have given to the terrorist-sponsoring regime in Iran, that’s going to come to an end.”

Cooper also said building on and advancing the Abraham Accords, a series of bilateral agreements on Arab–Israeli normalization between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, will be important.

For Tarin, the biggest hope among the Muslim community, he says, is that there is not a repeat of the 2020 order by Trump that prevented people from certain Muslim countries from coming to the U.S.

“No. 2, the hope is that all Americans, including American Muslims, their civil rights and civil liberties and the issues that they’ve been advocating for are protected. No. 3, the hope is for a cease-fire and the end to the conflict in the Middle East and specifically in Gaza,” Tarin said. 

He added that it would be beneficial if Trump embraced parts of the Biden administration’s national strategy on Islamophobia. 

Fox News Digital reached out to the Trump-Vance transition team for comment but did not receive a response.
