Trump appoints Gorka, Wong to White House posts

0

President-elect Trump on Friday announced that former State Department official Alex Wong will be appointed assistant to the president and principal deputy national security advisor, and that Sebastian Gorka, a former aide, will serve as deputy assistant to the president and senior director for counterterrorism.

Both men served under Trump during his first term. Wong served in the State Department as deputy special representative for North Korea, and the deputy assistant secretary for East Asian and pacific affairs.

Rep. Mike Waltz, who was tapped by Trump to serve as his national security adviser, praised Wong on X.

“Alex has a proven record of delivering results during President Trump’s first term where he helped negotiate the historic summits with Kim Jong Un that stabilized relations,” he wrote. “He will have an essential role in helping keep America safe!”

Gorka, who Trump noted was a “legal immigrant,” previously served as deputy assistant to the president during Trump’s first term. He’s also a former Fox News contributor.

“Since 2015, Dr. Gorka has been a tireless advocate for the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement, serving previously as Strategist to the President in the first Trump Administration,” Trump said in a news release.

Gorka previously served during the first seven months of the Trump administration as a deputy assistant and strategist focused on foreign policy and national security.

Trump selects Scott Turner to be in charge of HUD

President-elect Trump nominated former NFL player Scott Turner as the secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Turner, who is chair of the Center for Education Opportunity, previously served as executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC).

“Scott is an NFL Veteran, who, during my First Term, served as the First Executive Director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC), helping to lead an Unprecedented Effort that Transformed our Country’s most distressed communities,” Trump said in a Friday statement.

Turner, a graduate of the University of Illinois, played cornerback for the Washington Redskins before winning a state house race in Texas. He served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2013 to 2017.

During Trump’s first term, Turner served as the executive director of the WHORC — aimed at helping the country’s “distressed communities across America,” according to its website.

“Scott will work alongside me to Make America Great Again for EVERY American,” Trump said. “Congratulations to Scott, his wonderful wife, Robin, and his son, Solomon!”

On X, Turner thanked Trump, saying he was “humbled” by the nomination, and former HUD chief, Dr. Ben Carson, whom he called a mentor.

Joe Rogan explains why liberal media ‘hemorrhaging’ audiences: ‘You’re not accurate, you’re delusional’

0

Podcaster Joe Rogan dunked on left-wing media for losing viewers as many Americans have grown distrustful and wary of their bias.

Rogan spoke on his podcast about a recent op-ed from billionaire Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos, headlined, “The hard truth: Americans don’t trust the news media.”

He summarized the piece as “essentially saying that you have to take divergent viewpoints, you have to take a bunch of different perspectives, we can’t just be this left-wing echo chamber, and it’s the reason why the business is faltering.”

Rogan argued that the truth of Bezos’ observations appears to be playing out across the media landscape.

Rogan slams the media

Joe Rogan argued the media has lost popularity and credibility, particularly after the election. (Spotify/Joe Rogan Experience)

“I was just reading something about CNN’s ratings and MSNBC’s ratings post-election – they’ve crashed,” Rogan said on Wednesday’s episode. “All these left-wing kooks on YouTube are hemorrhaging subscribers. Where people go, ‘You guys are out of touch, you’re not accurate, you’re delusional.’ And people are speaking with their subscriptions and they’re speaking with their purchasing of the Washington Post and their purchasing of the New York Times.”

He then recalled how the New York Times published a baffling fact-check this week of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s claim that a popular breakfast cereal contains several artificial ingredients in the United States that are not used in other countries.

“The New York Times just debunked – in the most insane way – debunked RFK Jr’s assertion that the ingredients in Froot Loops are different in Canada than they are in the United States. They fact-checked it, while saying he was accurate, so their fact-check – it’s so dumb when you see the fact – I tweeted it.”

He went on to say, “The fact check is so dumb because the fact check says it’s not correct, they have the same ingredients… except for these harmful chemicals.”

WASHINGTON POST OWNER JEFF BEZOS WANTS MORE CONSERVATIVE OPINION WRITERS AT PAPER: REPORT

He then read the fact-check, adding his own commentary at the end that these are “f—ing dangerous chemicals that are banned in Canada that we’re trying to get rid of in America. So, they’re literally saying he was wrong, but he was right.”

“That made my brain hurt just reading it,” one of Rogan’s guests said.

“That’s the New York f—ing Times,” Rogan exclaimed in disbelief. “This is what the New York Times is doing, so, of course, you’re gonna hemorrhage subscribers, of course. You’re crazy, you’re saying something that’s nuts and also… What is your motivation?”

“If we’re saying that these things have been eliminated in other countries because they’ve been proven to be dangerous – what is your motivation for saying he was wrong?” he wondered.

After one of his guests said the motivation was money, Rogan asked, “What else could it be?” before listing other possibilities like “ideology.”

“Left-wing rejection of RFK Jr. because now ‘he’s connected to Trump, which is connected to Nazis,'” he suggested as another reason. “It’s like, you go down this f—ing weird rabbit hole with these people, and you’re like, ‘What are you trying to do? Are you trying to remove all leftover credibility?'”

“Are you trying to eliminate – because you lost so much credibility – are you trying to kill it all? Are you secretly working for the Chinese? Like, what are you doing?” he asked.

Girls Catholic school volleyball team could face penalty after fans boo trans athlete on public school team

0

A transgender volleyball player at a high school in northern California was reportedly booed and harassed during a match against a Catholic school Oct. 12, according to ABC 7.

In response, another school’s athletic director reportedly told the Catholic school it could face “consequences” from the athletic conference.

The Oct. 12 match was hosted by Notre Dame Belmont in Belmont, California, against Half Moon Bay High School. Half Moon Bay rostered a transgender athlete on its girls team.

Notre Dame Belmont canceled a match earlier in the season between the two teams due to the transgender athlete.

In response to complaints of boos and harassment, athletic director Steve Sell of Aragon High School in San Mateo, California, intervened. In his capacity as co-chair of the Peninsula Athletic League Athletic Directors, Sell informed Notre Dame there could be consequences, according to ABC 7.

Notre Dame Belmont responded with a letter to Sell, apologizing on behalf of those accused of booing. The letter also said the Catholic school will adhere to a policy of banning spectators who exhibit such behavior.

SJSU WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL’S 1ST OPPONENT DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT TRANS PLAYER, SUGGESTS MATCH WOULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED

“We have enforced our long-held policy to ban spectators from future games (season and postseason) who harass any individual,” the letter stated. “We truly regret and apologize for the inappropriate and unsporting behavior by members of the NBD community at this match. NBD is dedicated to ensuring incidents like this never happen again.”

Transgender athletes in women’s volleyball and subsequent opposition has become a statewide issue in California this year.

At the high school level, another girls volleyball team forfeited a state playoff match because its opponent “has a male athlete playing for their team,” the school said.

Stone Ridge Christian High School, located in Merced, was scheduled to face San Francisco Waldorf in the Northern California Division 6 tournament. San Francisco Waldorf had a bye into the semifinals because it was the No. 1 seed in its bracket. But the Christian school forfeited in an announcement just before the match.

“As many of you know, our girls won on Wednesday and advanced to the state playoffs,” the school said, via Max Preps. “Unfortunately, we were just informed that our opponent, San Francisco Waldorf, has a male athlete playing for their team.

“At SRC, we believe God’s Word is authoritative and infallible. It is Truth. And as Genesis makes clear, God wonderfully and immutably created each person as male or female. We do not believe sex is changeable, and we do not intend to participate in events that send a different message. We also have a duty and responsibility to care for the health and safety of our athletes.

“So, after consulting with our students, coaches and staff, we have made the difficult decision to forfeit Saturday’s game. Standing for Biblical truth means more than the outcome of a game.”

The player who was referenced is reportedly a three-sport athlete who led San Francisco Waldorf to a California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) North Coast Championship last season. The CIF enacted “gender identity participation” rules in 2013.

“All students should have the opportunity to participate in CIF athletics and/or activities in a manner that is consistent with their gender identity,” the policy stated.

Meanwhile, at the college level, San Jose State’s volleyball team has been at the center of a national media firestorm over the presence of a transgender athlete on the team and a teammate being involved in multiple lawsuits over the issue.

San Jose State women’s co-captain Brooke Slusser has joined a lawsuit against the NCAA and filed her own lawsuit against the Mountain West Conference and her own school alleging she was deceived about the natural birth sex of her teammate, Blaire Fleming, who is a biological male.

The two have continued to play together this season amid the ongoing controversy but have had seven matches on their schedule forfeited. San Jose State will compete in the Mountain West tournament, but a ruling from a Biden-appointed judge after an emergency hearing in Colorado Thursday could prevent that from happening.

A Mountain West spokesperson said it is possible for San Jose State to win the championship if opponents forfeit upcoming tournament games in Las Vegas starting Nov. 27. But federal Judge Kato Crews will deliver a judgment on whether that plan will stand or not, or if the team and transgender player can even compete.

F1 legend Mario Andretti talks American drivers, constructors getting back onto grid ahead of Las Vegas GP

0

Mario Andretti is only one of two American drivers to win a Formula 1 World Championship and the last one to accomplish it in 1978.

In that 1978 season, Formula 1 had two Grand Prix races in the United States. The first was early in the year in Long Beach, California, and the second took place in Watkins Glen, New York.

The U.S. later dropped off the F1 calendar altogether before finally finding a home in Austin, Texas, at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA).

This weekend, race fans have flocked to Las Vegas for the third U.S. event of the year, and F1 has seen an immense popularity turnaround. The Las Vegas Strip transformed into an epic street race filled with glitz and glamor not seen anywhere else on the schedule.

For Andretti, it’s music to his ears.

“To me, when I hear that, ‘growth,’ it’s music to my ears,” the racing legend told Fox News Digital in an interview. “Obviously, because it’s no secret how much I love Formula 1 and what it meant to me over the years and still does. To see that it captures this imagination of American race fans, I think it’s great. I mean, it started out with having a proper home in today’s world at COTA in Austin and with that investment and that facility. That assured the future.

“Then, of course, Miami coming along and now what was invested in Las Vegas. It’s just unbelievable the way the city embraced this event. I was just there, and even from last year when I saw the magnitude of construction, everything that’s going on and, of course, even the paddock — it’s there.

“It’s not something to dismantle after the events. It’s a long-term commitment. Promotion, promotion, promotion worked because the interest is at a high level, and that’s a beautiful thing to see. But the way Vegas is hosting this event is spectacular.”

The big difference between last year’s race and this year’s event when it comes to the grid is the lack of an American driver.

Logan Sargeant was replaced at Williams Racing with up-and-comer Franco Colapinto following a series of struggles.

Andretti said for F1 to be popular in America, there doesn’t necessarily have to be an American driver in the field or even another American constructor, but it wouldn’t hurt.

MCLAREN’S ZAK BROWN TALKS MENTALITY IN TIGHT RACE FOR F1 CONSTRUCTORS’ CHAMPIONSHIP

“It doesn’t have to be, but I don’t think it would hurt to have more American involvement directly,” he said. “I know Haas has a team there, but I think the important part is the driver is even more important than the team. But another American manufacturer and all that sort of thing I think can only add to the interest.

“Let’s face it, being an international sport as Formula 1 is, when it’s in your own country, (for example) when they’re in Italy, Ferrari is all over. And you like to see it when you’re in America, you’d love to watch Cadillac.”

Rumors have run rampant about General Motors vying for a team in F1, which would add two more drivers to the 20-racer field.

Andretti Global has inched closer to the finish line in that respect after Michael Andretti’s role in the company being scaled back. Michael is Mario’s son.

The situation appeared to have changed when Dan Towriss took over as majority owner of Andretti Global.

So, just how close is a new American-based F1 team to joining the sport?

“Well, it’s a work in progress, and no question about it,” Mario Andretti said. “I have every reason to feel very optimistic about it.”

While teams decide what they will do for the next few years, McLaren could be on the verge of its first constructors’ championships since 1998.

“I love that,” Andretti said. “I raced with Bruce McLaren way back and what McLaren as a brand accomplished in Formula 1 is enviable. And to see them come back with Zak Brown at the head of it and aligning himself with young drivers, potential winners on both sides, fighting for a constructors’ championship and bringing in (team principal) Andrea Stella to run the team and all that were brilliant moves that he made. A lot of credit from me goes to him.

“You can see it’s all about just bringing everything together. I don’t know anyone who loves the sport as much as Zak Brown himself. He’s very engaged, and it’s really great to see that success.”

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen could win the drivers’ championship for the fourth consecutive season if he finishes in front of McLaren’s Lando Norris or if Norris fails to score any points as he did last year in Las Vegas.

Andretti said Verstappen is capable of getting it done.

Trump picks Dr. Marty Makary as Food and Drug Administration commissioner

0

President-elect Trump on Friday announced he is nominating Johns Hopkins School of Medicine professor Dr. Marty Makary for Food and Drug Administration (FDA) commissioner.

“I am very pleased to nominate Marty Makary MD, MPH, FACS, for FDA Commissioner,” Trump said in a statement. “FDA has lost the trust of Americans, and has lost sight of its primary goal as a regulator. The Agency needs Dr. Marty Makary, a Highly Respected Johns Hopkins Surgical Oncologist and Health Policy Expert, to course-correct and refocus the Agency.”

Makary’s nomination comes after Trump nominated Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to “Make America healthy again.”

Trump said Makary will “work under the leadership of Robert F. Trump in his statement added that Makary, who was a Fox News medical contributor, is also a “member of the prestigious National Academy of Medicine” and “has devoted his career to improving Medical Quality and lowering Hospital and Drug Costs for all Americans. In addition, Dr. Makary is an accomplished Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, and a leading advocate for Healthcare Transparency. He has authored more than 300 scientific articles and three New York Times bestselling books on Healthcare.

JESSE WATTERS: You know Pam Bondi’s a winner because the deep state sounds awfully nervous

0

Fox News host Jesse Watters reacts to President-elect Donald Trump choosing Pam Bondi as his attorney general and argues the nomination process proves he’s not the dictator Democrats made him out to be.

JESSE WATTERS: Trump said his revenge will be success, not liberal work camps. Trump got some pretty bad news this week, and he didn’t react like a dictator. The Senate wasn’t going to confirm Matt Gaetz. So did Trump thrash about and dissolve the Senate? No. He respected the check and balance and picked a new attorney general, not something Hitler would have done…

Trump swapped out Gaetz with someone who has a much better chance of getting confirmed, former Florida AG Pam Bondi. JD Vance says attorneys general are the most important job in the government, only behind President Trump, had his eye on Bondi for awhile… Just like with every nomination, they’re going to try to dig up dirt on Bondi. But all they’ve found so far, she’s got a great resumé… You know, Bondi’s a winner because the deep state sounds awfully nervous.

MSNBC CONTRIBUTOR WARNS ‘WE SHOULD ALL FEAR’ TRUMP’S NEW AG PICK PAM BONDI ‘BECAUSE SHE’S COMPETENT’

Trump wants to radically transform the government. It’s what he campaigned on, is what Americans voted for in 2016. His agenda got swallowed up by D.C. bureaucrats and rabid Democrats. But Politico reports, all the forces that were coming for him have been kind of defanged and obliterated.

This time, it feels like Trump found his footing in Washington, and he has his people around him. They believe in his plan. Reporters have been covering Trump for a decade. So, after two assassination attempts, four indictments and a landslide, Trump has a “different sort of confidence and nerve.” Trump’s carrying the momentum from the election all the way to the inauguration. Then it’s time for him to execute his vision without delay.

Sean Hannity: Democrats were in shock after Trump won

0

Fox News host Sean Hannity discusses the decline of the legacy media following President-elect Donald Trump’s victory on “Hannity.”

SEAN HANNITY: You might not have noticed after the election, all across the country, there were many devout Democrats who were not just angry that Donald Trump won – they were also in a complete state of shock. Many were totally, completely blindsided by Donald Trump’s resounding win in both the Electoral College and the popular vote. Now, despite the disastrous last four years, the terrible approval numbers of Kamala and Joe, a wave of polls, the Democrats didn’t see it coming.

‘MORNING JOE’ CONTINUES TO LOSE VIEWERS EACH DAY SINCE MSNBC HOSTS REVEALED MAR-A-LAGO MEETING WITH TRUMP

The legacy media didn’t see it coming. Probably because the primary source of news is legacy media. I said in 2007, journalism in America is dead. It’s been dead and buried, with a few exceptions – like Fox News, for some time. It’s become a far-left echo chamber. That is what has emerged.

Democrats, they just have their heads in the sand. Legacy media is refusing to change course, even as their numbers decline – their influence is totally evaporated.

49ers’ Deebo Samuel responds to Terrell Owens criticism: ‘Cut it fam’

Former 49ers star Terrell Owens and current San Francisco wide receiver Deebo Samuel engaged in a war of words this week.

Owens, who racked up 8,572 receiving yards over his standout eight-year run with the Niners, recently questioned whether Samuel was consistently giving his best effort when he was on the football field.

“Deebo is not really playing up to Deebo’s standards,” Owens said during a recent appearance on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco.

Owens went on to suggest that Samuel was not consistently giving his best effort when he was on the football field. He also took aim at Samuel’s fashion.

“It seems like he’s more focused on his pregame attire than the game. If we can shift that focus, maybe that can energize and create some more production from an offensive standpoint. I’m just being tongue-in-cheek with that.”

Samuel is often photographed during his pregame walk to the locker room. The 49ers social media account frequently shares photos of Samuel’s choice of clothing. The 28-year-old’s fashion statements have made headlines throughout the season.

Samuel, who earned First-team All-Pro honors in 2021, apparently caught wind of Owens comments and issued a four-word response. “T.O cut it fam!!!!” Samuel wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday.

From a statistical standpoint, Samuel’s 2024 production could be considered underwhelming. He has recorded 490 receiving yards over the nine games he’s appeared in this season. The normally dual-threat playmaker has just one receiving touchdown and one rushing touchdown this year.

Samuel has only racked up 79 yards on the ground in 2024. He finished 2021 with a career-best 365 rushing yards, and ended the 2023 campaign with 225 yards on the ground.

Owens is a Pro Football Hall of Famer and developed a reputation for being one of the hardest working players on any team he was on during his NFL career. But, Owen’s career was also riddled with controversy, which at times prompted questions about his maturity. Owen’s off the field antics merely exacerbated some of those concerns.

The 49ers will try to bolster their playoff odds when they play the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 24.
