Atlanta City Council President Doug Shipman has announced the 2025 committee chairpersons and appointments.
The announcements were made at the Dec. 2 meeting, the last full council meeting of the year. They remain largely the same as the 2024 committees.
The committee appointments for next year include Eshé Collins, who won the Dec. 3 runoff for the city council Post 3 At-Large seat.
Collins will fill the remaining term of Keisha Sean Waites, who stepped down in March in an unsuccessful bid for Fulton County clerk. The term ends next year when all city council seats are up for election.
“We will continue to appoint committee chairs and members who truly represent the values, ambitions and rich diversity of Atlanta,” Shipman said in a written statement.
“The upcoming year may present significant challenges and opportunities for our city, and I have full confidence that these committees will provide thoughtful and impactful leadership in their roles,” he said.
