2022CommonWealthGames: Goodness Nwachukwu wins gold in women’s para discus, sets new world record

Nwachukwu Goodness of Nigeria won the women’s E42.44/61.64 discus throw gold medal for Nigeria at the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, UK.

In the process, Nwachukwu’s throw of 36.56 meters also set a world record.

On Thursday, August 4, Sarah Edminston of Australia finished in second place, while Naibili Vanutisolo of Fiji Island got third.

Meanwhile, Nnamdi Innocent of Nigeria won a bronze medal in the men’s lightweight para powerlifting. The Malaysian Gustin Bonnie Bunyau won the gold medal with a lift of 154.6 kg, and Swan Mark of England won the silver. The Nigerian lifted 132.5 kg.
